Our target audience is people aged 11-18 so using a female our own age who looks young means people will be able to relate to our character as our target audience is a similar age and may also have younger brothers or sisters which makes it seem more realistic

There isn't many comparisons to this character where we dressed in black and got only a mid shot of the body however their can be similarities in the way we used conventional black clothing and a tall dark figure to suggest to the audience that they are a powerful psycho. Our male character is also seen another time where he puts the log around the females neck and starts to strangle her but this is only brief moment so that it creates enigmas for the audience to think about such as 'why is he strangling her', 'why is he using a log' and all sorts of questions which the audience wants to know.

Protagonist

Our female protagonist is similar to the innocent protagonist in the film 'The Girl on The Train' in the way that she is dressed and her facial expressions and how they suggest pure fear in her mind. She is dressed in normal clothes similar to our female character and her face looks really worried similarly to how Becky looks in the close up of her beaten face. The lighting is also similar as it concentrates on the face more than the clothing or the background. For the lighting of our character we used natural lighting to make it seem more realistic and when she was in the compartment under the stairs we used the flash on the iphone 7 whilst recording so that it looked as if someone was shining a light in her face and looking at her. This also made the area look more lit the lighting in that room was really poor and didn't look effective for our opening.

This is the female character in our opening sequence. We wanted to make sure the audience felt bad for her and sympathised with her character. I have included a long shot and a close up of her so that i can easily compare her to a character in a similar social group. In the close up the audience can clearly see how her face is bruised and her mouth is taped up. The use of make up and props here are used to suggest that someone or something has beaten her up and she is in pain due to the redness in her eyes. Also her hair is all messed up to look as if she has been dragged around which also adds to the audiences effect of being disturbed by what has happened to her.
