Believe: Nobody likes me

Action: Had suicidal thoughts, was very reactive at home when told to do something, my room was never clean.

Result: Has caused me to become very socially aware of my actions to the point where I get anxious that I will say or do the wrong thing. Has left me with feelings of loneliness.

Pivot or Keep? PIVOT.

Believe: I am very smart.

Action: I continued reading and writing things of interest.

Result: I continue to use my knowledge of literature to write beautiful pieces of art.

Pivot or Keep? KEEP

Believe: Anger is the only way that I can reach people and make them understand me.

Action: I began arguing with my parents because they would often yell at me instead of talking to me which would make me feel misunderstood resulting in anger, yelling, and miscommunication.

Results: I suffered with anger issues and poor communication for majority of my life.

Pivot or Keep? PIVOT

Believe: Teamwork and devotion is rewarding.

Action: I did colorguard for 2 more years, made the varsity team, made some new friends, and learned the fufillment of devoting your time to your practice and team mates.

Result: Learned how to work with people, time- management, and commitment.

Pivot or Keep? KEEP

Believe: Writing is a great way to express myself without using my mouth.

Action: I made poems to express what was going on in my mind without the fear of judgement.

Result: I continue to write poems to express my intense emotions in an artistic and vulnerable way.

Pivot or Keep? KEEP

Pivot/ Replacement: I can both help people understand me and understand the people I talk to by effectively communicating in a healthy and calm manner.

Benefit: I will benefit from the pivot by expanding my thoughts on situations pertaining myself and others, and creating a clear, safe space for feelings and emotions to be healthy conveyed.
