Also the digital storytelling described beside this post. I think both of these and the idea below would make it easier for students to connect to students in other schools and districts. Coding clubs and digital storytelling can give purpose to student communication- sharing projects, ideas, problems. 
I would also like to have trail cameras for our forest. Students don't seem aware that there are animals near us! ideally, I would love a live feed , but good old cameras with motion sensors would be great! Using computational skills to figure out how to count data and then analyze it gives real world reasons for CT. Also, this again gives purpose to school to school communication- You have 20 deer? We only have 2! Skunks! I amm glad you have 5 and we have none!
