At the end of their shooting spree, they had murdered 12 students and one teacher. 20 more were also wounded. November 12, 1999: The man who sold the weapons to Klebold and Harris is sentenced to six years in prison.
April 2001: Victims' families settle suits that total up to $2.5 million.
October 22, 2003: Video evidence of the young men planning the school shooting and practicing their aim with bowling pins is released.
September 21, 2007: The Columbine Memorial is opened to the public right next to the school.

1. I chose this topic because I was truly interested in how and why this would even occur. I was curious to see how the public reacted and wanted specifically to see how the killers' parents reacted to their children's actions. 

2. The only thing I came into this knowing was that two young men started a school shooting in Colorado. 

3. I learned as much as I could from this research opportunity. I learned that the lives of everyone in the school, related to someone in the school, and everywhere around the country were greatly affected. 

4. This research changed my opinion because before I began my research, I expected there to be lots of reasoning and evidence behind the shooters' decision, but it ended up being a revenge story. 

5. This topic relates to the real world because people finally realized the danger of mental health.
