<title>2. Moreover, since much practice in heritage/museums is not framed in terms of ‘communicating values’, it would be helpful tosurvey relevant activity in this area; andexplore how the value communication approach could be meaningfully framed for cultural practitioners</title>

<title>3. The project could be better related to previous and ongoing European heritage studies research that have engaged critically with the instrumental uses of heritage for the transmission of values and with the association of Europe and/or the EU with specific values that are proper, organic or intrinsic. In general, in heritage and museum studies literature and practice there is considerably criticality about governmental and instrumental uses of heritage to communicate values. The project researchers need to be aware of this scientific and practical context so that it does not diminish the impact and contribution of the activities.</title>

<title>4. The user survey that forms the intelligence base for the development of the platform has been administered to users within the consortium beneficiaries, and needs also to be administered to a wider range of sector professionals, particularly in museums.</title>

<title>5. There has been some skewing of scope in the domain of user requirements. A main concern is in the deviation from gathering requirements from the wider community to the more limited exclusive involvement of only consortium members in this process, who represented a limited range of museums/organisations. User requirements are an essential basis for the development of the VAST platform.</title>

<title>6. The scientific achievement of the deliverables D2.2, D2.4 and D 2.6 is promising but consists of relatively straightforward textual analysis and annotation, whose value would be amplified by the historical and contextual grounding mentioned above.Much rests on the innovation involved in the deployment and mobilisation of these understandings within cultural sector practice.</title>
