This is one of his works of art, he called it “La Espera” and I chose it because it's one of his lesser known works and I believe it’s a very good painting because why this painting is one of his few pop culture paintings.

It could have been a visual artists, musical artist, photographer etc. The students were to research a person to celebrate Black History Month, Women's Month and Hispanic Heritage Month. Students gathered information about what made the artist famous, what impact they had on the world and identify the specific style. Once the research was complete, students created their own work highlighting their specific artist. Students then recorded themselves reading about their artist.

In my art piece I drew a picture of Lupita surrounded by her favorite colors pink and purple.I included the purple flower to represent one of the characters in her book that struggles to think she is beautiful just because she is dark skinned. I also put on of her famous quotes in the upper left hand side “ Clay can be dirty in the wrong hands but clay can be art in the right”. She is an outstanding role model shows people that with time and hard work you can do anything. Fun fact Lupita is also author one of her famous book Sulwe. It is a new york times best seller and also has a netflix animated film version. A photo of her book is on the upper right hand corner.

The most challenging part most likely the realistic part so i didn't try my best since i’m not good with the middle part. I really enjoyed the left side, I love making random patterns and going freely instead of the right side since I made shapes and not random lines. The realism /the middle part was also not a liking of mines since I don't enjoy realism in art

My object is a cake. I think that I did create unity with my piece as a whole. The elements and principles I used compliment each other. I think the realistic and the abstract sides complement each other because the colors I used on the realism side are the darker versions of the abstract side and I used green as the background color so it doesn’t all look the same. I decided to use a cake because I like to bake and also because a cake doesn’t really have one specific look. So I could have made it look anyway that I wanted. The most challenging part was creating the abstract side. It was most challenging because it for me required the most thinking. My favorite style of art to create was the non-objective part. It was my favorite because it was the side where I could put almost anything I wanted from scribbles to batterstains.
