In fact, he had an invasive tumor of the an*l glands, which caused him many problems and sufferings. It was decisive for my choice, because during his illness I used to treat the wounds according to the instructions of the vet, medicines and injections. It was a very painful process, but it taught me the importance of patience and the importance of remaining calm even in the most difficult moments. That’s why I want to be a nurse.

MANDATORY -- 2nd year -- What makes a good nurse? What skills are needed? Why do you think you will be a good nurse?

Write at least 150 words

I think that to be a good nurse you need 3 fundamental characteristics: good empathy, good technical skills and great willpower. Good empathy: the nurse is the professional figure who works in the healthcare sector and spends most of the time with the patients, he understands and must understand his pain. I believe that I will be a good nurse because I have the ability to empathize with a person's pain. Second quality: good technical skills. Knowing, studying, never stopping in front of what you don't know. I hope to be a good nurse because I like studying and I hope to maintain this skill of mine over time. Third skill: great willpower. I already understood, after starting my studies, that it is a job that requires great physical and mental effort, night shifts are tiring. Only if you love your job can you maintain the strength to move forward. I think I love my job and I hope to achieve my goals and maintain it over time.

MANDATORY --2nd year -- Choose an article from the "Reading Bank" in your textbook (p52 - 66) and summarize it.

Include the title of the article. You can do the related exercises to help you understand the article better but it is not mandatory.
You should write 100- 150 words. If you want to write more, great!

Pet visits (p.52)

Patricia Stevens, a nurse, was in hospital and was restless about the birth of her twins but really wanted to see her dog. So she managed to convince the doctor to go to the hospital door where she managed to meet her dog and when she met him, she felt much better, better than when she takes a drug. In fact, in recent years pet therapy has become increasingly widespread in hospitals, which is able to calm agitated patients, reassure them and improve their clinical condition. This healing action is also aimed at children, in fact some pediatric hospitals have allowed pets to enter and the results have been surprising. Some people are afraid that they could transmit infections to patients, but in reality there is no scientific evidence that this has ever happened. It is important to have a list of rules and guidelines to follow, to ensure that projects can be successful.

Write (or record) an essay about why you would (or would not) like to be a clinical tutor in future. (100 words)

In the future I would really like to be a clinical tutor. In my experience, I have met good clinical mentors and bad clinical mentors. As for the latter, I've definitely learned what I don't want to be like in the future! A bad clinical tutor doesn't want to do his job and doesn't want to teach, he behaves as if you were a burden and often leaves you alone, but gets angry if when you have to carry out a task you don't do it as he would like. A good clinical tutor, he follows you, teaches you and loves teaching you. When a concept is not clear to you, he is willing to explain it to you over and over again. He never gets tired of this. He follows you and teaches you, never making you feel alone and making you passionate about your work even more. He is a prepared, brilliant person with teaching ability. In the future I would like to be just that: a great clinical tutor. I can't wait to have my students, but before that I hope to be a great nurse.

Furthermore, it would be nice if the work of the clinical tutor was paid, especially if it is done adequately.

Write (or record) a 100 word description of one of your clinical tutors. What kind of personality did your tutor have? What did you admire about this person?

In my experience I met an excellent clinical tutor. She is brilliant, knowledgeable, she always has an answer to your questions. She loves teaching and she never gets tired of doing it. You can see that she also loves her work, because she does it with passion. Even if you are tired or nervous for personal reasons, you do not let them interfere with your work life. With children she is calm, kind and patient. She also knows how to relate excellently with the children's parents, another indispensable quality that a nurse like her must possess. When you carefully observe these people, you hope that you can learn more and more from them, that's why you need to take this opportunity: ask questions, observe carefully. You will be able to learn not only practical skills but also empathy and patient approach skills. I hope for my past internship and the one to come that I have learned and to learn the best from the right people like her.

This encounter took place a week ago, in the cardiology department. I had the opportunity to perform the first blood test on a patient. I was very happy even though I was aware that in life you can always learn, improve and never think you have reached everything, but see everything as a new starting point.

During my third year of nursing, I had the opportunity to work closely with a clinical tutor who played a significant role in shaping my learning experience. My tutor was experienced, patient, and dedicated to helping me understand the complexities of nursing practice. One of the most memorable aspects of our time together was how she guided me through challenging clinical situations. She always took the time to explain procedures step by step, ensuring that I not only understood the theory behind them but also gained hands-on experience. Her constructive feedback was invaluable, and she encouraged me to think critically and approach each patient with empathy and professionalism. She also emphasized the importance of teamwork, ensuring that I communicated effectively with colleagues and patients. Thanks to her guidance, I feel more confident in my abilities as a nursing student, and I am excited to apply what I have learned in my future career.
