Scientific argumentation is arguably one of the most important things students learn in science classrooms. The ability to understand the phenomena through multiple modes including text; translate the information to make it comprehensible; and finally to write your thoughts is heavily dependent on reading skills. Reading skills helps student encode, decode, and transmit information. These skills are challenging and students need opportunities to practice in classes.
