King David committed adultery with Bathsheba. He then tried to cover up her pregnancy, and when he failed with that, he had her husband Uriah the Hittite killed. The was perhaps the greatest transgression of David's life.

2 Samuel 12
Nathan rebukes David.
David repent, the Lord forgave him but the son born to him died after 1 week of birth. Bathsebah gave birth to Solomon, the next heir of throne to King David.

Lessons:
1. Secret sin will be found out
_{We may try to fool ourselves or others, but we cannot hide our sin from God}
2. God will forgive anyone who repents
3. Sin’s consequences remain even when the sin is forgiven 4. God can work even in difficult situations
