         <description><![CDATA[<div>What was the source; An extract from&nbsp; 3 Cup One Tea; One Man's Mission to Promote Peace- One School at a Time by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.&nbsp;<br><br>A gist of the source; It was an extract that talked about encouraging education for girls, where the source talked about how if you educate one girl you educate the whole family whereas it isn't the same case for boys.&nbsp;<br><br>2 subjects that are linked with the source; English as its an extract from an article or book, and I&amp;S because it talks about a social struggle for girls, which is primary education.&nbsp;<br><br>QUESTIONS; Using the source given to you, what 2 subjects can you link the source with?&nbsp;<br><br>Comment why do you think there is&nbsp; this stigma in villages where people prefer boys over girls?&nbsp;<br><br>Using your source, do you think that that maybe gender stereotypes may have started because of us, reflect?&nbsp;<br><br>You are the community president of a village in India, write a speech talking about why educating a girl is important? <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

This source provides valuable information about statistics on UNESCO's goal, about how an NGO is supporting the cause and provides information about how education for children is being damaged due to conflict, especially in Syria. This article was also published by a renowned new agency.<br><br>Subjects Linked with the source: <br><br>1. It describes how this decision is advantageous for the society and why it is important. The source uses subject specific knowledge from <strong>I&amp;S </strong>as it covers all economic, environmental and historical perspectives. It also uses <strong>mathematics</strong> as it includes many statistics such as data representation of the number of girls who are literate/illiterate. The source highly uses knowledge from <strong>English</strong> as it is an infographic, and also many propaganda techniques. For example, it gives 3 specific reasons stating why educating girls is beneficial, “healthy, wealthy and wise”. </div><div> </div>]]></description>
