- I agree that school sometimes do give us stress, however, in school, there is not only academics, but there are still ccas and other after-school activities. This activities allows us to bond more with other schoolmates as well as being sociable. With friends, we are able to seek help from them as friends are always our pillar of support and will go through thick and thin with us. Cca also allows students to relieve stress as they chose the Ccas themselves, this makes them more passionate about their cca and make them look forward to school. Hence, school life is not too stressful for students.

Opposition

Main point 1: Health risk
In NS, many of the soldiers have to go through extreme training to prepare for an attack in the future. However, by going through these tough training, it could affect our physical condition. We could get skin cancer, sprains or even permanent injuries. This could lead to disability in the future and more challenges to face.

Evidence:
For example, the news has covered many incidents about their recruits fainting. Once, a 19 year old full time national serviceman was displaying signs of heat injury after a 8km fast march at Bedok. Due to the 8km fast march, he ended up having heatstroke. The medic team rushed to help him and he was later admitted to a hospital. However, he only feel into a coma and his condition worsened. He was then pronounced dead. This shows that NS could lead to health risks and even death.

Main point 2: The education system and economy will be disrupted.
Junior College, Polytechnics and ITE students are mostly consisted of students aged 18-20. Deferring refers to the postponement of your NS enlistment to continue you studies.

Evidence:

If the students defer for their studies, a portion of the working force will be lost as many part time workers for retail or food and beverages companies such as fast food chains are 18 and above. It will be a huge loss for the economy if that happens. In addition, if that specific age group have to attend NS, they will ve released to find work later and may have an unstable future as their education may not have been completed. They would have to work when they're older and may not have a stable financial situation. So, if all men and women have to serve the NS, it will affect most of their futures negatively.

Rebuttal:
Although I do agree that NS could help make bonds and strong ties between different races and ethnic groups, but many of us will still hang around a particular type of people we like. So some of us may still stay away from some people and not socialize with all.
I disagree that that the economy will not be unstable if people go to NS. Firstly, how can people still work if they get hurt while they were in NS. Secondly, the education they received would have been delayed for many. Especially for males, they would have problems finding work as they would start later.

Moreover, women are working together help other women into business industry in hopes to help income for their families.

Main point 1: Euthanasia is the practice of intentionally ending a life to relieve pain and suffering. We agree that euthanasia is the right way to end someone's pain and suffering. It doesn't only end the suffering of the patient but also those around them.

Evidence: This can be seen from how much pain a person goes through. For example, if a patient were to have cancer and was on life support, not only the illness but also the treatment is making them weak. From our observations, cancer patients are said to be in pain due to their illness, the chemotherapy makes them even more weaker. What more for cancer patients on life support. Euthanasia also helps those dearest to the patients as life support costs a lot of money. With day-to-day things like food getting more expensive, these people that might need to support their other family members will have to cut down on expenses to pay for the hospital bills.

Main point 2:
Euthanasia reduces the spread of diseases in hospitals.

Evidence:
When a patient is sick or has a contagious and harmful disease, there a chance that a contagious agent exists within the patient. The longer the duration that the patient is kept alive, the higher the chance of the risk of others being affected by the disease if the individual is not handled properly. Even if the other patients are well taken care of, the hospital is still a place where diseases and illnesses are widespread which may affect the health of other patients.

Rebuttal:
I agree to your point that a doctor is would feel guilty after euthanizing a patient but the doctor does this to end their pain and suffering and it is not to kill them instead. After all, a doctor always wants the best for his/her patients so if the patient is suffering, it would be better for the doctor to let the patient go. Not only does this relieve the patient's pain, it also helps the family members of the patient to cut down on hospital expenses and also allow them to stop worrying for their family who is sick as they are not suffering anymore.

Main Point 1: Women are frequently subjected to subtle discrimination by their male counterparts in the workplace.

Evidence: Qualified women may be passed over for promotions because they become or are pregnant (pregnancy discrimination). Jobs may then be offered to a less qualified male employee or applicant just because he is male and males are stereotyped to be the more dominant and capable gender. Women are also more likely to be judged by how they look and how they dress than their male counterparts. On a note of contradiction, women are not only being discriminated for being pretty or provocative, they are also discriminated for not being pretty enough, too old, or, in some positions (especially sales and public relations where women are often the employees of) for not being attractive enough. Thus, in this way, gender equality cannot be achieved

Main Point 1:
Females should not be undertaken, underestimated or looked down.

Evidence:
National Service helps women to be more independent and be exposed to a greater range of people from different walks of life and races. National Service is also fair for both genders, where everyone is treated equally. Some women have the abilities to do physical activities and going through National Service can help build their body strength.

Main Point 2:
Women can double the manpower available to the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

Evidence:
According to our research, the male population aged 15-24 will decline so by 2065, the same male NS-age cohort then will be less than half of its size today.

Rebuttal:
I agree that people will get injured in National Service and that some women will not be able to handle the physical activities. However, there are many roles that women can take such as medics, pilots and seamen that do not require much of their upper-body strength. Education can continue after serving 2 years of National Service.

Main point 2 : There is a lack of awareness about who others are and what their capabilities and inherent qualities may be. Men and women have different capabilities. In corporations, this often manifests as a culture that is unfriendly or unhelpful to women. It can include anything from the preferences and perspectives we hold to the associations, roles and behaviours we carry out. A large part of it may be down to unconscious loss of opportunities and devastation.
example: There are reasons for why men
are sent as their country's frontline combat, and not women. Generally speaking, women are physically inferior to men. Not only are women deemed as "weaker" than men physically, but also are not as emotionally strong as men. They can be emotionally
unstable most of the time, causing them to be less productive at work, and feel more stressed out at home. Therefore it should be concluded that gender equality through anything cannot be achieved because women and men have completely different capabilities beginning with the lack of awareness of
it.
