I decided to enroll in Cal Sate Channel Islands because I wanted the opportunity to further my education and grow as a person. I chose Channel Islands because I believe the faculty and staff deeply care about their students and campus. I’m looking forward to the next couple of years and can’t wait to see what opportunities are available.

I chose to come to CI because it was closer to home and most accessible to me as a mom! I did not want to let me becoming a mom stop me from pursuing a higher education and I want my son to be able to say that if I did it, he can too.

I came to CI to stay close to my family, friends, and church but to also be able to be on a college campus every week and have that experience. I also came for the pre-nursing program so that in the next couple years I will hopefully be able to join the amazing nursing program.

My family's support and my desire to pursue a nursing degree at CSUCI :)

One experience/reason that I came to CI was my love for English. I have a family member that came to this school and they had great things to say, so I thought "Why not pursue my BA here". Another reason is my family. I have always wanted to pursue higher education, and want to be able to say that I reached my goal, and that it was thanks and for my family.

I chose CI to be close to home and finish up my studio arts degree. I go to school for my parents who never had the opportunity to go to college. I also found a passion for ceramics while in community college and decided this was a great place to continue that journey.

I took a year off before coming to CI due to some things that were happening in my personal life during COVID times. My sister was there to help me heal from those things and overall be a better person, which led me back here :)

I am the reason for coming to CI, I made the decision that I wanted to continue my education here and this was the school I have been wanting to come to since high school but i really didn't put enough work in to achieve that goal but I'm here now and I know my family are all proud of how far I've came!

My bestfriend and I both chose CI together, but I really liked being on campus when we toured. I thought it was perfect and safe. I also liked that it was far from home, but close enough for me to visit whenever I wanted.

I have a lot of younger siblings who I see as either my kid brother or kid sister. I know they look up to me, so by me going to college shows them that a lot can come out of our crazy family.

I chose CI since I knew I was going to be challenged to put all my effort into my career. My sister and I share the latter concept and push to do new things when we have the potential to make something beautiful , like this cake.

One reason why I chose to come to ci is the guidance of my teachers in the avid program. They guided me through the basic need to know about college and finances. Another reason is that my family is somewhat struggling economically and I want to help them.

My family and my boyfriend at the ones who brought me here. I will be the first to graduate from a University in my family ( I am the 3rd of 4 kids) and hope to be a motivation for my younger sister. My AVID teacher was the one who also encouraged and motivated me to attend CSUCI because I was going to go to a Junior College.
