I travelled in time this week as I got introduced to the white board system. Matrix here I come... Oh, but wait, but then the sweet aroma of books were introduced on Thursday and Friday as we covered books for the young minds to enter our doors this coming week. Gerrie entertained us with reading and also turned into a DJ - well done Prof! I am going to miss all the time together, once we start lecturing

One day at a time..One hour at a time.. Don’t get overwhelmed. Nobody knows what you can do but you. Be true to yourself. Have faith, dream big, think big and know that anything is possible.Be kind and tolerant. We are who we are, we’re the nurturers, the givers, and we are the leaders. One step at a time. Keep your feet on the ground. Grateful. Humble. We are all extraordinary.Be the best, healthiest, happiest version of yourself.Go forth with integrity and courage.Studying/ working at Embury is an investment to your future self. Your deeds are your monument.Working at Embury has led me to start living my life the ÉMBURY WAY. I have adopted the Embury values as my own. Embury is helping me reach my true potential of my higher self. Thank you Gerrie for encouraging me to reflect on my experiences. I treasure these moments.

Odysseus (the Greek name for Ulysses), in Homer’s epic poem 'Odyssey', tells of his ten-year journey home from the Trojan war. Lord Alfred Tennyson recreates this epic voyage in his own telling in his inspirational poem Ulysses (the Latin name for Odysseus). I believe the following extracts from Ulysses may be applied to our experiences in this new venture of starting the Embury Premon and Midwat campuses: “I am a part of all that I have met;Yet all experience is an arch wherethro'Gleams that untravell'd world whose margin fadesFor ever and forever when I move. How dull it is to pause, to make an end,To rust unburnish'd, not to shine in use!As tho' to breathe were life!”“We are…strong in will to seek, to find, and not to yield!"
