Frist reason was, in the modern which we are in the changes in sociocultural aspects of life and rapid developments made in technologic and scientific required individuals with different qualities and qualifications. According to MEB the previous curriculum was not able to provide the exact needs of this time period . Second reason is, Turkey's position in international exams, rapports and scientific research was reviewed by MEB and they decided the need for a change was in order. These are the competencies that were aimed to develop in the students through teaching programs; communication in the first language, communication in foreing languages, mathematical competency, scientific and technological competency, digital competency, learning how to learn, entrepenaurship, social and public competencies, cultural awareness and expression. According to these competencies, the students are aimed to excel in areas such as; developing positive attitudes towards foreign cultures and languages, preparing a word presentation or a simple website, being able to talk about latest news and developments in science and technology.
