how do you battle poverty in a society that cares so little about the lower class that most minimum wage jobs don't even pay enough money for someone to live?

Such a good question... and one that doesn't have an easy answer. In 2020, the poverty rate in the United States was around 11%. Minimum wage is not enough money to live on, as we saw with our budget work. This is why degrees, certifications, etc, are needed to obtain jobs with higher paying amounts.

What happens if someone uses their credit card for a big purchase then dies? What happens with the money? Does someone else have to pay?

Response from Mrs. Stirling - what a GREAT question. When someone passes, there is an estate and lawyers involved. If debt is owed, then it needs to be paid back from the estate. Sometimes it can be discussed and lowered a little bit. And yes, debt collectors will try to come after family (next of kin) if there is no money in the estate

I recommend people just starting off with a credit card for the first time have a VERY low limit on their credit card.
