'All Saints has faced difficulties presented by the pandemic and by changes of staff and it is a credit to you that your arts provision has nonetheless continued to emerge. You value the contribution of the arts to children’s wellbeing and the children themselves testify to this. You have engaged children, through membership of your creative club, in contributing to your thinking and you have implemented ideas such as running a competition to design tickets for your recent production. You have made links to other schools, through ‘Farnworth Matters’, providing children with opportunities to share in performing and in showcasing their art work. You have used Access Art to upskill staff and their confidence has improved as a consequence. Clubs and visits are popular and there is strong evidence of your children’s enthusiasm for the arts, which is clearly evident in your outdoor karaoke and performance area! As you move forward, it will be good to channel this enthusiasm into further opportunities for children to devise and deliver their own performances. Might they also give thought to ways in which their arts experiences and learning can further reflect and celebrate the diversity of your setting and of society? Might parents be more involved in sharing their own arts talents and experiences? It will be good to explore how the arts can contribute further to reading and literacy and you might look at how drama, for instance, can contribute to the understanding of texts. This and other areas for CPD might be explored in conjunction with other schools and by increasing your links to local creative practitioners and arts organisations. It is great to see the arts gaining momentum at All Saints and we look forward to hearing where your next journey takes you and the impact that your work has on your children’s learning and their lives.'
