1) to convince people to not let oral tradition die.

2) showing how and what they had done in the war. To be able to show how native Americans used to be. Show who they were as a person and be able to see them.

3) Persuade. Talks about how the native americans were treated and what happened during that time period.

The video is not biased in sense that there trying to change the name because its inappropriate. Yes the person wanted you to lean more towards supporting the change.

I think if its offensive then it should be taken town or changed. I also think that they should get rid of the name because of the background behind it and the people that represent it. I don think its bad but its a huge part of history.

She wanted to be able to write about herself without being famous because she was a Puritan. But someone posted her writing and it went everywhere causing her to be famous even if she didnt want it

1) What are some daily habits someone could do to eventually become a successful, happy person?
1) Have a good mental state. thats prolly top priority because not having that can affect everything else.

2) Where did you learn this information? Have you seen it work for other people? Has it worked for you?

i have seen it on studies for school projects. it does work, for example myself. and yes i have seen it work of others s well.

What does this video show us about the depiction of the devil throughout literature?
- People say that the devil is all evil and bad but then there's a new story, a new look, and new ways of describing who the devil is.

Why do you think writers from the Romantic period shifted away from the Puritan style of morally good characters and began writing about characters who made bad choices?
- Because they gave a new perspective, layers and domesion, made the story more intregining.

According to the video, how did Whitman revolutionize American poetry?
HE wanted to write poems about the whole brotherhood of america. He wrote things that many people disagreed with for a very long time. But eventually people understand and he becomes famous.

According to the video, what is a metaphor?
- its raining like cats and dogs, using your imagination

What does it mean to use an extended metaphor?
-The world is like a thirsty animal in the desert.

Develop a metaphor to describe something that takes up a lot of your time. Try to describe it using imagery (sense, touch, smell, taste, or sound)
My life is like a mother with 3 kids. Like any day could explode like a meteor. School is like working night shift. It feel like a broken clock.

Realism is more depressing/dark or everyday life
Romanticism is more peaceful happy. With soft bright lights in the picture.

Looks more realistic not as lively vs. romanticism is a polished more perfect look at life.

The lighting and poses. In romanticism the lighting is everywhere all the time which makes it look brighter and happier.
Realism looks more nature with less light and better comfort and more natural looking.

(Freedom, Self, mortality) Freedom. It talks about after her husband leaves she feels like she isn't bond to anything anymore.

It shows that she can finally live a life without the worry of other people. She doesn't have to be anywhere and know anyone.

We've discussed some ways that literature and art were changed as a result of WWI, but how were families impacted?

a lot of people moved to urban areas, woman had to work at factory jobs that were usually for men.

What positive changes resulted for people?

Woman got to have a chance at whatever job they wanted even when the men weren't at war. College became an option for woman. children got more opportunities at school instead of just working.

Were there any negative results mentioned in the video? If so, what were they?

there were children working dangerous jobs like a coal mine. Birth rates were going down. Teens began hanging around more friends than to stay with their families with motor cars
