I'm interested in learning more about how other countries have integrated author rights into law. This isn't something I thought of as being possible - thanks for expanding my understanding of the possible approaches to rights retention / open access publishing. Always heartening to see that broad systemic changes are possible.

Strengthen the clauses on Rights Retention in our OA and IP policies. Especially the OA policy as this is a Library policy, then spread the word.

Remind researchers if they did not sign a publication agreement in the first place (Pre-digital era) the publisher doesn't own it. They only got a bare licence

Combining Paper Pledge for Planet and Green OA deposit competition will be fun. Then we can focus on climate change literature and create a collection and improve the visibility of the important work.

Loved hearing about the broad legislative changes some countries have made around author's rights to share their work. Makes me feel like this broad, systems level change is possible! Heartening.

Have legal advice that we can share with university legal council to explain rights retention. Our legal team is not that familiar with publisher agreements or copyright, but they are the "experts" who are asked for advice on anything IP related. Do librarians at other universities have similar hurdles?
