I am excited to share that I am joining Friedman & Mirman Co., L.P.A as Senior Counsel on January 1, 2025 and dissolving Weis Law Group.

This move allows me to focus on those things that matter – to me and my clients. It also allows my former colleagues at Weis Law Group to pursue their own paths that would not have been possible otherwise. Just like in divorce matters, we have found a way forward to a new life and promising future.

When I started Weis Law Group over 10 years ago, it came on the heels of the firm I was with essentially breaking apart. I jumped feet first into starting my own firm, believing that this was the most logical next step in my career as a Divorce Attorney. Over the years, I learned a lot more about what it took to own a business, market and manage the firm and its people – especially as my firm grew. What I always knew for certain is that I am a very good lawyer who loves her work, her clients, and helping to guide them through the new phase of their lives. And life was great. And the firm was great. But something was missing.

Two years ago, I took a sabbatical where I was able to step away from the firm for a month and contemplate for the first time in my career what I enjoyed, wanted, and needed from my career and how I wanted to spend the next chapter of my life. I realized over time that what I want to do is practice law – representing clients who are experiencing a major transition in their family and life – not spending an inordinate amount of time on the other tasks that make a business function well. All that has brought me to today.

As my firm came to an end, I realized that there was only one Team that I wanted to join.  Having worked as a Law Clerk and then an Associate so many years ago for Bill Friedman, I wanted to return home to the firm he founded with Denise Mirman and Scott Friedman.  I am honored to join them and the entire Friedman & Mirman Team!

I share this background with you as a peek inside my head and my heart, something rarely done in this profession, but also as a way to help you see that even when you find yourself believing that “you just can’t do this anymore” and you aren’t sure how to find a way through it, just like my firm tag line stated “deciding to change your life”,  while also taking the time to reflect and consult with trusted advisors, thoughtfully plan, and carefully execute can create a beautiful future you might have never otherwise imagined.
