The reason I chose to put the CeraVe logo into my journal was because I particularly like the color scheme of it. I love how the Cera is in green on a white background with the Ve being the opposite. It adds some character to the design, more than it would if all the text were the same color on the same background. I am also a fan of the kerning, especially between the 'r' and the 'a'. The way the two letters almost touch and fall into the same curve is very pleasing to look at.

I added this piece to my journal for many reasons. I like the use of different fonts and hierarchy. I particularly enjoy that the text, "A Garden of Good Things" takes precedence over the brand name. It makes the crock-pot stand out and appeal more to the consumer. I for one purchased it because I fell in love with the design on it, and if it were any smaller it wouldn't be as appealing. I also like that the word "crock-pot" is put is this heavy, bold font rather than having it match the font of the brand name. It matches perfecting with the word it's describing.

I think something interesting about this entry is that the font on the bottle blends perfectly with the way the bottle is designed. The typography of "di Amore" is just as elegant as the roses around the glass. I like the kerning of this font, the letters are touching giving them a feeling of unity, but I also enjoy the space between the m and the o. I think if those two letters followed suit, it would look to crowded. The hierarchy can be admired as well. As you look further down the label the text gets smaller and smaller, really emphasizing the importance and relevance of each line of text.

I didn't want every entry in my journal to be about fonts that I like. While I love this little utensil holder, for its color and cute text, I do think it could've been executed better. The way the cursive letters are spaced takes away the readability of it. When looking at the typography, I had a hard time differentiating the U and the T from each other. I do, however, like the kerning for the "cooking & baking" portion of this container. I think the way that is spaced is even and pleasing to the eye.

I really enjoy the font Arm & Hammer decided to go with for this cat litter. My favorite detail of it is that they decided to put a little cat head for the dot of the "i" in Feline. I also enjoy the two toned text - this was something I noted with the CeraVe logo. The use of hierarchy is also elaborate. The logo and the small perks section are bigger than the rest of the typography. I think making the text in the yellow circle one of the bigger fonts is a really good example because it's making sure the consumer sees the perks of purchasing their cat litter rather than another brands.

I decided to add this logo in my journal because it's one of my favorites. I like the curving of the font, it makes the logo unified with the little cartoons at the bottom. I also like how the letterforms are soft and curvy. It makes the font feel relaxing in my opinion. The leading and kerning are also quite enjoyable. The word " Chamberlain" gives the word "Coffee" enough room to where it's not overcrowded, and the kerning is really thought-out. Taking a look at the "r" and "l" really shows how organized it is, in order to keep the same kerning they upturned the "r" so it wouldn't hit the "l".

I think the Advil logo does its job. It's a nice, bright, in-your-face color. The perfect combination to draw in a consumer; however, I am not a fan of the kerning. The space between the A and the D is different than that of the D, V, and I. Those three letters touch, the A and D are almost touching, and the I and L are further from touching than all the rest. Something I do like, though, is the way all the letterforms have them same slant at the top to unify the logo.

I thought this text was really funky, so I wanted to add it to my journal. Somehow the people who thought up this font really hit the nail on the head, the font really screams salsa to me. It feels as though all of the letters are dancing with each other due to the kerning having them so close each other. I also enjoy how some of the letters are long, some are capital letters, and some are lowercase. It gives the font more of a "dancy" feel to it, with each letter moving to its own funky beat.

I really enjoyed the blocky-ness of this font, which is why I decided to include it in this journal. I also like the way the letters in "Off The Wall" seem to flow and grow with the curve of the skateboard. I find the hierarchy interesting, it doesn't really seem to have a purpose, the words "the" and "wall" aren't any more significant than the words "off" and "Vans", if anything I would say "Vans" has more importance since it's the brand name. They instead are using it as a means of jumping off the sticker, more in your face. I find the use of it really interesting because in most cases the hierarchy is used to signify the importance of a word.

I really enjoy how the font pops off the page with its 3D effect. It's unlike any of the other fonts I've added to this journal, and I really enjoy the two-toned letterforms. I think the color choice has a huge impact because they are very different from each other. The darkness of the black makes the the light lavender color pop out more. I also enjoy the kerning of this typeface. Some of the letters are touching and some are spaced just a little bit apart so it all blends well together - this is something I find interesting because usually when the kerning is different between some letterforms it breaks the unity of it; however, in this case it works perfectly.

I think this typeface works so well with the brand name. First off, the font has a slight sheen to it to make it look glossy, which I think is perfect because the brand's name is "Glossier". I also enjoy how malleable the letterforms appear to be, they look so soft as though they were piped onto the sticker. The fact that the typeface is cursive also works so well because it gives it a feeling of prestige.

This is yet another funky font that I love. One specific thing that stands out to me in the changes in size of the letterforms - while they're all capitalized, they still changed the sizes of some to them which really adds character. I also like how for the word "exchange" they put white letterforms on a black background, I think it makes it more interesting to look at, and it gives a good balance since the word is in the middle. The hierarchy is also used well, with each line of text getting smaller as it goes down.

I think this font is really fun and fitting. The way the letterforms are stretched out gives them a sense of mellowness. Also, the way they are very curvy and soft makes them seem calm — not stressed. I'm not sure if the circles in between the e, s, and second s in stress were intentional or if it became worn over time, but I find it to be a little distracting, so I might have done without it if I had designed it. However, overall I like the font a lot.

I like this font because it gives a really old feeling — this business started in 1947, so it's fitting. I think part of the reason it feels old is because it's a serif font. I also like the thickness of the fonts, I feel like if it was skinny it would take away from it and make it a little more boring. The kerning is also interesting, almost all of the letters are on the verge of touching but there is just a little gap separating them.

I really like this font. It's really round which I find super interesting how that was executed all the way through the font, specifically the letter a. It's basically and O with a line on the end, but it matches so perfectly. I find the r's interesting as well because they lack the ears — this contributes to the round feeling. Also, the fact that almost all of the letters are the same width unifies the font as a whole.

The way the font for "Whiskey Maple Smoke Rub" is all capitalized and bold gives it a feeling of a man who barbeques. I think it's really fitting, and the added hatching on the sides to add a bit of highlight really gives it the extra feeling of manliness. I also like how there are two different fonts used for the brand name and the product name. The hierarchy used shows that they are aiming for the consumer to look at the flavoring of the spice first, and the company second. It also has a good balance since the fonts differ, if the brand name was put in this bold and manly font, it would draw more attention to it and give it a crowded look, distracting potential buyers from what's important — the flavor.

This is one of my favorite things that I own. Not just because of how small it is, but also because of the font choice. I like how the letters are reminiscent of handwriting with the way that it's shaky. I also like how the letterforms are all the same size as the letters they're next to. I also enjoy the way the creators of this mug made the words "Me Up" line up with "Bean" to keep in unified and easy to read.

I like how the font used for this brand name gives off an industrial vibe. The coffee machines themselves are pretty hardy. The one I have is a single serve one and it's still a pretty decent size. The way that the letters are all capitalized, bold, and sharp give it the industrial feel. I also like how the color scheme stays the same. Although the font is really bold, it blends in regardless because the color of it is just a darker version of the background. Another aspect I really enjoy is the 3 dots for the stem of the K. It adds a bit of fun into the font and it symbolizes part of the brand — the k-cups.

I like the different font choices for the word "plants" and the rest of the design. It really shows the hierarchy in the text. What's not pictured in this post is the fact that the mug is shaped like a flower pot, this makes the hierarchy make a lot of sense as to why the word "plants" might be more important to the mug. This entry is also another example of white text on a darker background. I think this might be one of my favorite combinations because it makes the text pop out so much.

I think the font is perfect for the Duracell brand because the boldness of this font gives off a powerful vibe — the perfect vibe for batteries. I also find the R in the font to be interesting because the bar doesn't connect, and since the R is like that I feel as though it should be the same for the A, but alas it is not. I think if they did that it could make the font a bit more interesting to look at; however, they might have had the right idea leaving the A alone since they're side by side, it might cause distraction. A comical aspect I find on this packaging is the way they wrote out "power boost ingredients". Typing it out in a sentence makes it read normally, but when looking at it on the package I read it as POWER BOOST
ingredients
My brain splits it up and also reads the ingredients part quieter.

I really like this font because it's very cutsie, like a Christmas workshop would be. The way all the letters are the same size and are a bit round give it that feeling, I think that along with how the word is curved a bit pull the whole feeling together. I appreciate how they kept the "At Target" bit straight and small as too not draw too much attention to it. Also the white text on the red background is such a good choice because it increases the readability of it.

This is yet another kind of put-together, industrial style font. I think it works well for this company because they sell tape, so of course you would want a brand logo that seems together. I think the kerning is interesting because the letterforms are almost touching, there is barely any space between, almost as though they are stuck together. I also think the color chosen for it is good, it's nice and bright, and draws the consumers attention.

While this font is very bold and to the point, I find it a bit boring. There isn't much going on, but it does get the point across which I like. I think they could've at least changed the font for the flavor of the drink to give a little spice to it, but instead, they kept all of it the same. I do like that all the letterforms are even in size and that there's a sense of hierarchy, I just think more could've been done in an attempt to draw consumers in.

I absolutely love the font used on these Oui yogurt jars. They use a font called “Keep Smiling” for the main logo and it is the most prominent word on the label. It draws the consumer's attention, for me personally, I caught a glimpse of the yogurt jar and was drawn into buying it only because of how cute I thought the label was. Had the company used a different font such as Comic Sans or Ariel, I would have found the jar to be less attractive and might not have even considered picking it up. I just think the way this label was executed is perfect in every way.

I think because of this it gives the font a sense of joy because it's as though they're bouncing around. I also think it gives it a homey, handwriting feel which makes they font really cute. It matches super well with the mugs cute exterior which is a bunch of cats dressed up for Christmas. I also enjoy the word spacing. I like that they're very far apart because it contrasts from all the letters being connected.
