I am hopeful , because I can feel peace around me. I drew the border of my art with peaceful countries' flags. Kids are so happy in a peaceful environment. Kids are going to school to study. Kids are socializing with friends. Kids are playing in the park. A peaceful world will help kids to be successful. I used color pencil, marker and watercolor for this artwork.

I am hopeful that the LGBTGA+ community will get accepted more. It is important to me because I have family members who are a part of the LGBTQA+ community and I love them very much. It would be really special to us. A lot of people think that’s it’s wrong to be a pert of the LGBTQA+ community and that they’re different, but they’re not. They’re good people and they’re just being themselves. The world would be a better place if everyone accepted everyone no matter what.

Like the cold, dry background shown in the drawing, the world we are living in can be overwhelming sometimes. Time keeps moving and technologies are advancing day after day. However, people have various things that keep them living in this world, and for me, it would be friendship. The two girls represent me and my friend, who have an unknown path in front. However, we march forward by supporting each other. Together, we decide what is right or wrong, and support each other. Without this friendship, we would not have been able to create such a beautiful path behind us.

The girl in my drawing represents people in life. She is tired and worn out, but in front of her is a bright and colorful city. Even though she can’t see it, she is almost there and her difficult journey will end. Even though we are going through hard times, we should still have hope because the good times will come, even if we can’t see it. I am hopeful because one day the good times will come, no matter how long it’ll take and how hard it’ll be.

I am hopeful because whenever I am facing a problem and need help, I have someone who will lift me up. My friends and family help guide me and I am so grateful. My art piece represents someone who is alone or confused or just needs a friend and is optimistic because someone is there for them. I am hopeful because there are so many good people in the world. All a person needs to do is reach out and someone will be there to support them.

Even after the worst fires, there is still a possibility, a hope of a new beginning. Even after you fail or your entire life crumbles to ashes, remember that there is still a chance for you to succeed, so hold onto that sliver of a chance, work at it. Even after the fire consumes all you’ve worked so hard to acomplish, hold onto the fact that maybe, somewhere hidden beneath the ashes is a seed. A seed of hope.

My visual art piece, titled "Hands of Hope," is a colored pencil drawing of my interpretation of the theme "I am hopeful because...". The focal point of my piece is the bright candle flame, at the center of which a small female figure representing me stands. The namesake of my piece: the hands, holding up the candle, and lovingly caressing its flame, represent the people in my life that ignite and nurture the hope within me. My use of light and shadow further develops the theme, by showing that light (hope) prevails over darkness (fear), making for a moving piece.

I find hope in the resilience of humans because I can smile despite my imperfections and difficulties present in my life. This positivity is clearly portrayed through the image of a girl, seated among the destroyed buildings. Her bright smile in contrast to the catastrophe around her vividly captures this unwavering hope. Moreover, her stained jacket symbolizes all the imperfect features that individuals have, yet it does not diminish the radiance of her unshaken optimism. We can glimpse the determined power of the human heart to find hope and joy in the face of hardships.
