Group 1 - Kels, Sarah, Amanda, Paris

We believe that women are wanting autonomy over their birth. This was demonstrated in the 'what women what' journal article.

Women would prefer a familiar face - continuity of care with one midwife throughout prenatal - birth - postnatal

Respectful care, not just a 'patient' in the hospital and to able to have their decisions supported

Cultural safety - equality in aboriginal and Torres strait islanders birth experience.

Informed decision making - women should feel they are receiving the correct education around their birth

Women should be offered choice of services - outside of hospitals, to offer a variety of choices for women including mental health support

Women want holistic, physical, emotions, physiological, spiritual and cultural support.

Women felt like they faded into the background with their births. We believe women need to centralised and equally as important in their birth experience.
