Planning: We call our planning document a scheme of learning (SOL). It  is designed to cover a block of learning of appoximately 5-6 weeks. There are no lesson plans but the SOL is structured so that the flow and sequence of a lesson is evident, information about personalised learning is at hand and connections made to the wider learning experience; for example, employability, English and Maths, independent learning and EDI etc. Although we only expect to see planning for 6 week blocks, it is important that you are clear where that block of learning sits within the sequence of the teaching learning and assessment for your course (TLA). ]]> 2020-06-16 08:41:32 UTC https://padlet.com/dawn_smith8/i8483ivlghu6w55i/wish/628584753 Tracking dawn_smith8 https://padlet.com/dawn_smith8/i8483ivlghu6w55i/wish/628620955 Barrak Obama once said 'if you're walking down the right path...eventually you'll make progress.' Noble words but how are learners going to know where they are the direction they should take? Effective tracking enables you to make sure that students are challenged and progressing. If you understand where they are on their learning journey, then you will be able to give good quality feedback.
At LCC we use the systems Promonitor and Prosolution as our global tracking method. This records predicted grades and monitors progress through modules and weighted assignments. It is critical that this information is accurate and up-to-date. To support you in this we have Markbook Masters on every campus to help you set up your class and course tracking. Check with your programme manager with regards to local tracking as it may be that they already have a system in place for more regular monitoring of students. ,

Love it or hate it; Blooms charts will help you consider the range and levels of skills and knowledge your learners need to aquire. It will also help you to push learners out of their comfort zones. The Dreyfuss Model is another method of identifying how learners are progressing.
