Summary: Henry got a plot of land to live off of, and builds a shack, along with planting some crops, and totaling his expenses in th first year.

Quotes:
1. By the middle of April, I had made no haste in my work, rather made the most of it. (Thoreau 217)
2. At length,. in the beginning of May, with the help of some of my acquaintances, rather to improve so good an occasion for neighborliness than from necessity, I set up the frame of my house. (Thoreau 218)
3. It would have been worthwhile building more deliberately than I did. (Thoreau 219)

Own Thoughts:
1. The movement was interesting, wanting to regress technologically to a simpler state.
2. I'm surprised that they only went for temporary excursions, but the stays were still lengthy.
3. I'm quite surprised that the little money he did earn went mostly to others, considering how he worked for it.
4. Confused as to why one would leave their stay in the "wilderness".

Facts/Details From the Passage:
1. He grew several crops with the intention of being sold.
2. He regretted not building more quickly.
3. he was surprised as to how well crops grew considering the location.
4. He did not use manure or any type of fertilizer because he did not own the land.
5. He did not feel lonesome during his stay in mostly solitude.
