There is a good side of the internet and a bad side, just like anything. There is a way to navigate the internet properly and that is to always find what your looking for and not get to off-task getting off task and clicking on assorted links and ads can lead to very strange places, stranger than any downtown of a city, stranger than any shady backstreet.

in my opinion parents should start showing kids the internet at a young, but reasonable age. Kids need to know about the internet because it will be a big part of their lives in the future but they also need to have some parental controls because their can be bad things on the internet.

I agree that parental settings should be used but i strongly disagree that parents should hold their hand and monitor their child's internet use. I believe that Monitoring a child's internet use is not realistic and it does not prepare the child for the real world. Mommy and daddy aren't gonna be their when they grow up they need to know what is out there while being restricted a little bit.

Parents are alerted about their kids going on websites that might cause viruses.
