The poem is referring to a girl who is trying to find a way into her house which is locked. It may also be hinting at the fact that she is going on a journey of adolescence.

The poem is about a girl trying to sneak into her own house as she's been on adventure with her friends, has she is trying to enjoy her youth. As someone's looking onto her as well as the unknown narrator.

This poem stands out to me because the girl in the poem isn't giving a voice. Also the fact that the house is used as a metaphor to describe the jump from being a girl to womanhood is a great use of devices and is a good way to describe the feelings that come along with that transition
