I am so very grateful for the fact that my parents know how to handle such a situation and keep me and my two siblings calm, while providing us with substantial and comfortable living conditions. My parents, ever since the news of the virus coming to Florida, have been stocking up food and supplies little by little, and any time me or my two siblings would get scared in any manner of the imminent future of ourselves or our society, they would comfort us. They wouldn’t just comfort us the way anyone else comforts another, using phrases such as it will all be ok, they comforted us using facts and statistics from other virus outbreaks. They constantly provide us with nutritional food, and good tasting, and still keep calm and collective, despite both of them having extensive knowledge in the medical field, giving them the ability to really know how much damage can be done to society. My parents also provide entertainment to us constantly. They always find the best movies for all of us to watch together, pay for internet usage for us to use the internet, and provides me with money to purchase books and sheet music to enhance my musical studies.

I love the free time I have too.
How do you feel about online school?
- I like online school. I can sleep in a little more, I don’t have to worry about being late to classes, and I can wear whatever I want to my classes.

Self goals are one of the things that has kept me going in quarantine. They can range from simple short term goals to very long term and lasting goals. Sometimes I set goals to wake up earlier, not to destroy my sleep schedule. I also make practicing daily a short term goal, forcing myself to practice the violin, viola, and piano at least 40 minutes a day not to lose any of my acquired skills and techniques from the lack of lessons now. The long term goals also vary. I have set a goal to learn the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, all three movements, by the end of this quarantine, whenever that may be. Though this time stamp is indefinite, this concerto is one of the most difficult concertos, if not THE most difficult technically demanding and phrase interpretation worthy concerto ever created. I also plan to learn a number of other pieces by the end of this quarantine, such as the Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate, Valse Scherzo by Tchaikovsky, the full Symphonia Espagnole by Lalo, and a number of Chopin and Kreutzer etudes for violin and piano. Though accomplishing all this takes years and years of daily practice in conservatories, attempting this keeps me with something to do. The possibility that I actually perfect these pieces would raise my self esteem tremendously, and I would be a much better musician, and a better person as a whole from the realization of the true symbolic meanings of each of these masterpieces implied by these oustanding composers.

My first reaction of COVID-19 was very mild and uncaring. It started in China, so I thought that it would never make it to Florida, and even if it did, by that time a vaccine would be made. After hearing everyone say that the virus is not much more than the flu, I worried even less. Though for the time being, panic was pointless, realizing the potential of this virus would have been better. Everyone also was saying that online classes would never happen, but look at us now. I am now fully convinced not to take into account the opinions of non-medical professionals on this virus. Everything was so abrupt. Everything happened way too fast. At the time my mind was occupied with the school play Oklahoma, because I was playing in the pit orchestra for it. I would arrive every night at around 10 or 11, not giving me time to really reflect on anything happening personally, socially, or globally. When COVID-19 first hit Florida, I thought that because we knew who had it, it would go away quickly. It never even occurred to me that you could have it and now show symptoms right away, infecting other exponentially.

Do you like quarantine?
- I do not. Everything is so hectic and crazy, especially in the supermarkets. No one really respects me, being old, in that place. And on top of that its a great risk of contracting the virus.

How do you think this generation turned out?
- Of course there are many well mannered individuals, those I encounter are very rude and disrespectful. No one is civil anymore. No one thinks what its like to be the other, putting themselves in someone else’s shoes, as my parents called it.

What do you do to not be bored?
- Oh I’m bored most of the time, but I find things to do. I’ve been learning the harmonica that your father bought me recently, and I’ve been swimming almost everyday. I’ve been reading on my kindle a lot and I’ve been watching the news closely.

How long do you think this quarantine will last?
- I think its going to last about 1 to 2 years, depending on whether these idiots in office keep doing the wrong things and reopening states. I doubt that will happen, so my best bet is going to be a little over 2 years if anything.

What were your thoughts when you first heard about the virus?
- I thought it would eventually come to America and it did. Most of my predicaments about the virus were correct, such as it causing much panic, crashing the stock market, and making people separate. I did not think it would be much more than the common flu, however. That took me by surprise.
