Before I discovered this club, I thought a lot about post skyline graduation. I dreamed of transferring to top schools, taking advantage of the best opportunities, but I lacked academic motivation and influence. However, changing my motivation for the better, by becoming an honors club member, I’ve discovered a community that not only supports each other academically, but also provides resources like scholarships, job opportunities, or transfer insight opportunities like their UC Berkeley Fieldtrip. Having this opportunity to support the club make fundamental financial decisions providing that beneficial atmosphere, I am very thrilled to commit to. Aside from honors club, I also involve myself with the Skyline College’s Accelerate fellowship at BAEC, learning how event logistics work like budgeting costs for event setups and the physical layout of the event. All to propose ideas for events towards clients like recently with SSF’s economic development center for their Lunar New Year night market event. Additionally, I’ve been participating in the Honors Program having made 2 projects, a podcast, that researches Myanmar’s societal situation and the burmese student’s involvement with Skyline College here. As well as a statistics research uncovering the correlation between bay area home prices with their counties or population. Now for the big question, what makes me a qualified candidate? Having been an Honors Club member for 2 semesters now, utilizing and scouting what the club has to offer and their impacts, collaborating my familiarity with Honors Club, my organizational skills, and my strive to help other students, I’ll make sure this club does its due diligence giving that essential academic service to everyone. As an active member of the Honors Club, I've participated in several meetings and, most recently, a field trip to Berkeley’s Cal Day, in which I've gotten to know the members and club officers we have today. The positive experiences that the current officers offered us this term remind me of what every club needs. As someone who ran as secretary, treasurer, and president back in high school for 2 different clubs, most specifically, there was a need for advocacy among our members based on what the club offered. When it comes to college, the purpose that clubs such as honors serve is more detrimental in terms of transferring to a university, gaining professional skill sets, as well as creating a community that motivates us to become both a more academic and better version of ourselves. That’s why, as the VP for advocacy, I will focus on making opportunities even more accessible for our members. If elected, with the confidence and leadership skills I have gained from my prior experiences, my goal is to further expand and maximize the resources available to our members from the current resources we have today. I'll work to ensure that we are fully prepared to support our members, whether it’s through strengthening the Honors Transfer Program, collaborating with our officers and other organizations to lead workshops for programs such as TAP, or simply providing support to help our members reach their transfer and academic goals from a student standpoint. By working with these initiatives, we can collectively build on the strong foundation that we already have and further create accessible opportunities for every member to succeed and thrive here at Skyline. I honestly love everything research-based, though the club it self isn’t directly related to research I enjoy the connection between the Program & Club. I have done research for Daly City which is actually in the process of passing legislation, KQED, NPR, PBS, and more recently for ABSCBN for the filipinos that know. While I may not currently hold an official position within the club, I’ve been actively involved—regularly attending meetings, engaging with current officers, and building relationships with alumni. Beyond the Honors Club, I serve as a student ambassador at Skyline College, where I support administrative efforts and help students connect with workforce training, internships, and career education opportunities through the Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development Office. I help set up events for dual enrollment students and lead during many of those events, so my outreach skills from there will be very helpful in the leading position. I can be seen going to the various school districts and presenting to the students and helping them with their college applications. I’m also an active member of the Computer Science Club and recently placed 3rd in our intercollegiate hackathon. Attending transfer panels and student-led events has given me valuable insight into student needs and how the Honors Club can better support them. I’m eager to bring my leadership experience whether it was from work, cross-campus involvement, and network of connections to the Honors Club to help it grow and serve its members even more effectively. By attending the transfer panels and meetings, I’ve gained valuable insight into what the club offers and a good grasp of what students need. Having held various leadership positions in high school whether it was student government or clubs, I have a good handle on leading meetings.

Right now, I’m a member of the Honors Club, and while I don’t hold a position yet, I’ve been showing up, getting involved, and learning from all of you. I really care about making sure students have a voice—whether it’s about academics, campus life, or the everyday stuff that affects us.

Outside of Honors, I’ve been Vice President of the Photo Club, where I helped organize events like photo competitions and got more people engaged. That role taught me how to plan, communicate, and lead in a way that brings people together. I also recently did hackathons and workshops for GDG. So I’m always looking for ways to solve problems and make student life better.

I think I’d make a strong VP of Advocacy because I listen, follow through, and genuinely care. I want to take your ideas and concerns and help turn them into real change—not just talk. I’m all about taking action and creating a space where students feel supported and heard. Thanks for listening—and I’d love your support!

With me, I bring a wide set of experiences, from leading cultural and academic organizations to working as an international flight attendant, where I’ve learned to communicate across backgrounds and manage high-stakes situations with empathy and grace. I’m also deeply involved in service projects, one of which I participated in high school building up a local children’s library in Nicaragua so I’ve been exposed to a wide array of different circumstances as it relates to the overall human experience. Through my time working and volunteering I’ve been able to learn the value and mportance of both listening and leading.

If elected, I’ll work to ensure every voice is honored in our honors community. I want to be a bridge between ideas and the implementation of said ideas, and I’m excited for the chance to serve you all. Thank you

I believe that I am diligent and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get the work done. As well as offer my full support to fellow officers. Though I do not currently hold an officer position in Honors club, I have a lot of experience in Leadership in the last couple of years. I was in student government for the most of my high school career and held officer positions for 2 of those years. I was also captain of my cheer team, which taught me so many lessons on how to operate and organize a large group of people.

All of these leadership roles also taught me how to balance all my responsibilities and delegate what is needed, being a part of PTK and becoming a more active member of assc next semester, I have been able to network with many different people and create connections that will not only benefit me but honors club as well. I believe community and support is what will help us thrive. I know being president is a role with big shoes to fill but I am willing to take on the responsibility and treat this position with care if you vote for me. Thank you
