I know this because in the beginning and the middle the dad thinks that he is happy with his normal life. Then the kid starts to lose his happiness, Because of this the dad wants to cheer him up. Once this happened the dad took him to watch the person play the instrument. Until they realize that he is not there. Except the dad still wants to make him happy so he steps out of his comfort zone. Then the dad pretends that he's playing the instrument to make his kid happy.
