Keyboard warriors are mainly individuals who use the access of ICT skills for aggressive and inflammatory online behaviour, They usually become anonymous in such settings. However this is considered as abuse to digital access or over-reliance on digital technologies rather. Keyboard warriors are mainly cowards hiding their real identity to voice out their opinions which are normally negative ones. To Minimize the risk of exposure to such us educators need to work hand-in-hand with parents in promoting responsible online interaction and media literacy by educating our students on how to crucially evaluate information they disclose on these platforms and also educate them about digital footprint. I believe we need to introduce healthy online habits when exposing these ICT skills to our learners/students.

We can use strategies like critical thinking, online etiquette and promote media literacy, by imposing a culture of responsible online behaviour we decrease risks of cyber bullying and we’re also influencing essential life skills like proper communication and civil conflict as a whole. I believe it takes a village to raise a child hence the monitoring of ICT skills usage by our children should not only end in the school premises but at home as well, let’s introduce our kids to responsible online behaviour.
