         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ed Hardy got into tattooing or even saw tattoos for the first time on a man who was friends with his dad. A Navy man who had tatoos When Ed Hardy was younger, around 1956–1957, he had a best friend named Len Johnes, and they hung out a lot. So one day, when they found supplies like "(the sheets of designs that could be turned into tattoos, When we found Mongolian colored pencils, you could dip them into water and turn them into water color." (Page 12 #1 quote) They went around tattooing the kids in their neighborhood. They weren't permanent, so the other kids enjoyed their temporary tattoos.</div>]]></description>

"We opened Tattoo City in high style in September 1977." (Page 167, #2 Quote) It was the first ever tattoo shop that opened in the area where he opened his shop, at 2906 Mission Street.          <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the first ever tattoos that Ed Hardy drew was "The big snarling tiger with the crazy green eyes I first painted in 1968, when I was just starting out doing tattoos in Vancouver." (page 1 #3 Quote) Ed Hardy not only performed tattoo drawings, but he also had a bunch himself. The first tattoo he ever got, when he was 15, was a rose design on his ankle.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2003, two men approached his shop. Those two men ran Ku USA. an Asian-influenced casual wear brand. When they saw his tattoo design, they got the idea to use his tattoos on their clothing. So they became the first to put Ed Hardy's image on clothing. What they did was use their T-shirts to put his designs on. Started from there, and now he has clothing brands all over the world that use his designs in their clothing, like "T-shirts, hats, and running shoes." (page 1 #5 quote) His clothing brand, like his T-shirts, became very popular with "Punk Rockers and other subcultures."</div>]]></description>

In 1967, when he left to go to Bert Grimmin's on Pike, he saw the Japanese style of tattooing up close. "doind the most fantastic work I had ever seen. His name was Hong Kong Tom Yeomans. At this point my return to the Pike, the only tattooer I had watched up close was Phil Sparrow..." (Page 53, #6 quote) After this point, he started designing Japanese tattoos.</div>]]></description>

(page 63 #7 quote) Ed Hardy met Zele Owen when he went to Seattle Washigton. Zeke Owen was a good and famous tattoor. When Ed Hardy met him he said that they get along very good. "He was suspicious, almost paranoid, of classic tattooists." (pg. 87, #8 quote) Jerry was a big dude, and he wanted Ed Hardy to destroy the SS Lyle Tuttle after he settled in San Francisco. He was the founder or nite of the world's only known collection of tattoos taken from the dead. When Ed haedy met him in 1983 he went and saw his amazing work. He even let him hold a wet skin with tattoos on it. </div>]]></description>
