Please post a video or image related to RTI and explain the connection. For example, you may want to post a video of how RTI works in high school if this is an area of interest to you. Or perhaps, you might post an image of an assessment that RTI utilizes for a particular reason. Remember to make sure you explain why you chose your image/video.

I chose to put this picture on here because I believe it is all the right words describing RTI. We see all these different and somewhat non-related words, but in reality they are all related in some way. RTI is a three tier way of checking in on a student. It allows for a teacher or authority figure to figure out where a child is in their learning and behaviors. I think all of these words have a special meaning in the RTI process. It can very researched-based, general, and monitored task. Overall, I chose this because I thought it was a perfect choice of words to describe RTI.

About 10-15% of students fall into this tier. Tier 3 is at the top of the pyramid. It focuses on intensive individual intervention. About 5% of students fall into this tier. This model aims to help students in the areas they struggle with. The main idea is to help students before they fail.

I chose this picture because it is not simply a pyramid. It really shows that each tier is built off of the one below it. That they are all connected. A student can easily travel between the tiers in this diagram. In addition it demonstrates the classroom population better. Only a small portion of the class will need Tier 2 instruction and an even smaller portion will need Tier 3. In this diagram it shows the difference in proportion to the whole class.

I chose this image because it is made up of a variety of words that describes what RTI is. It talks about how RTI is differentiated among the students because of the three different tiers. It talks about how RTI is an individualized instruction. It mentions the trainings that teachers go through to give their students the best supports they can. It talks about growth because the idea of RTI is not for a student to remain in tier two or tier three but to grow and become part of tier one.
