I think that Escaping the Giant Wave is first-person point of view because it uses words like I, me, and my. For example, on page 17, the text says, "The saturday of our departure for Oregon finally arrived, and even though we had to leave the house at five o'clock in the morning to get to the airport on time, I woke up before my alarm went off." In this part of the text it says the words our, we, and I.
