The adder is the only venomous snake in the UK. This snake can be found on the moors. Lots of other animals live on the moors; Red grouse, Whinchat, Merlin, Common shrew, and in some places like the Dales and the New Forest, horses and ponies.

There is one type of Grouse called the Red Grouse that lives on the North York Moors. The male Grouse has a red comb over it's eye but the female Grouse doesn't.

There are loads of rivers in the north York moors and here is a list of some of them: the river Leven, river Derwent, river Esk, river seven. There is a lot of varied wildlife that use those rivers.

People in the rain forest are called quimbolas . They collect 25 Brazil nuts from each tree and leaving the other brazil nuts to grow bigger. Red male grouse have a red comb above their eyes. They hide in heather and nest on the ground. There are 3 types of heather bell heather, crossed leaved heath and ling heather.

The Red Grouse has a little red comb to represent its a male {boy} but if it doesn't have a red comb then its a Female {girl}.
