The puritans of Massachutes were a people of strict religon. Puritans read only the bible and tried to be as perfect as possible in order to impress god. This resulted in a outburst of emotions in all wrong ways. People would feel a way that would be seen as negative, and take it out on others. People wanted to see others be persecuted to make themseves feel better about their own life. The girls who blamed innocent people for being witches was also a maorpart of the witchhunt.
