Mera Mekkaoui

A poem that I found from poetry foundation is titled "Summer (14')" written by Rachel Back. One poetic element I enjoyed while reading this poem is the descriptive language. For example, when Back states "Slowly summer will scalding pass, autumn will arrive unnoticed." These specific lines stood out to me through the use of the words "scalding" and "Unnoticed." These words grabbed my attention because it describes a universal feeling that a lot of us may associate with the summer and fall seasons. This element creates a sense of familiarity for readers.
