         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chiara Perrone comes from Lecce, Italy. She joined the International Institute of Humanitarian Law in Sanremo in May 2022 and is currently the Academic Unit Assistant for the Department of International Refugee Law and Migration Law. She graduated with honors with a Master in Human Rights from the University of Vienna in 2021.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Chiara has worked in Chios, Greece, as a legal assistant for migrants and refugees. There, she performed research and advocacy with regards to structural problems in the asylum procedure and connected issues such as access to social rights, and she contributed to the publications of the NGO Equal Rights Beyond Borders. She was an intern at the UNHCR Liaison Office with the OSCE in Vienna, where she reported on OSCE region developments in fighting trafficking, advancing the integration of refugees, IDPs and returnees, and on efforts to end statelessness. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Academic Engagement Assistant<br><br></strong>Arina holds bachelor's degree in Jurisprudence from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (2018) and an LL.M. degree in Human Rights from Central European University (2021).&nbsp; She started her career as an Assistant Attorney-at-Law and later joined Team 29, a Russian NGO, as a Human Rights Lawyer representing clients in the cases on digital rights and freedom of expression before domestic courts and in the European Court of Human Rights. In the course of her graduate studies, Arina supported the teams of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union and French Centre de la Protection Internationale. She has recently obtained a Joint Master’s Degree in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs from LUISS University and the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE), for which she wrote her thesis on the key role played by third-country complementary pathways (specifically education pathways) in the field of refugee protection. &nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>She previously worked as an intern with the Partnership and Coordination Service (PCS) at the UNHCR in Geneva, as part of the NGOs and Civil Society team, where her work focused on building partnerships with NGOs and FBOs to deliver optimal results for refugees, IDPs, and persons of concern. Her fields of expertise are human rights, environmental law and refugee protection. &nbsp;</div><div>To date, her career has contributed to efforts channelling justice around the world, particularly in Europe, South America and the Middle East. Prior to joining the International Institute of Humanitarian Law in October 2022, Keila worked for several non-governmental organisations, developing advocacy campaigns and conducting research to support public interest litigation.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Mr. Delfabro is an Argentinian-born protection specialist, international refugee law expert, and senior lecturer with more than 20 years of professional experience in forced displacement, Human Rights, and refugee protection. Throughout his career, he has worked in different conflict areas, including Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. In Latin America, he advised governments and civil society on refugee protection and statelessness-related issues. Mr. Delfabro was the first Head of the Protection Section at UNHCR’s Global Learning and Development Centre. In his most recent position at UNHCR, Mr. Delfabro served as Head of Protection in the largest UNHCR country operation in the world at the time, Lebanon. In 2016, he joined the Institute as Director of the Refugee Law and Migration Department. In his capacity, Mr. Delfabro has designed and developed over 100 specialized training and capacity-building initiatives and has delivered lectures and classes in more than 40 countries.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ivana Krstić is a Full Professor of International Human Rights Law and a Director of the Human Rights Centre at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. She teaches several courses, including the European Immigration Law and Policy, Non-discrimination Law, Gender Equality, and Minority Rights.&nbsp;<br><br>She obtained her LLM (2003) at the School of Law, University of Pittsburgh (USA), along with an LLM (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. In the academic year 2006/2007, she was a Chevening Scholar working on her Ph.D. research at the Exeter College, Oxford University.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>She collaborates very closely with the Serbian Commissioner for the Protection of Equality and with the Judicial Academy and participates in the training of judges and other public officials. She has published several monographs and textbooks, around 20 handbooks, and more than 60 articles in international human rights law, international refugee law, and international public law.&nbsp;<br><br>She is currently a member of the Republic Commission for Transgender Persons.</div>]]></description>

Her duty location is in Thiva Camp.<br><br>She started working in Thiva since August 2020, to support Reception and Identification Center’s site manager with the overall management of the camp, identify special needs of the beneficiaries and vulnerable groups of people, submit weekly reports for the HQ, and participate in coordination meetings along with the SMS partner. The goal of this research is to shed light on women participation, or lack thereof, in peacebuilding activities in the governorate in light of the UNSCR 1325 doctrine.<br>Women’s participation in Nineveh is outlined in several aspects starting from the lack of their participation in political decision-making and their involvement in peacebuilding activities.<br>Nineveh governorate is situated under the turbulent context in the whole country of Iraq.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Janja Simentić Popović is the Assistant Professor in International and EU law at the University of<br>Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science, Serbia.<br>In 2021 she completed her PhD studies at the same faculty (International and European Studies) by<br>defending the PhD thesis “Jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the field of<br>asylum”. Areas of her current scientific work and interest are international humanitarian law,<br>international refugee law, EU asylum law and the role of the Court of Justice of the EU. In these<br>areas, she wrote ten scientific articles published in national and international journals and she<br>presented her research at six international conferences.<br>She was engaged as the consultant for writing four different research studies (on Serbian Law on<br>Asylum and Temporary Protection; on Self-determination in South Africa; on University Curriculum<br>on Transitional Justice; on the Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia).<br>In 2022 Simentić Popović successfully completed the online Specialists’ Course on International<br>Refugee Law, organized by UNHCR, International Institute of Humanitarian Law and University of<br>Belgrade - Faculty of Law.<br>Simentić Popović participated in several international and national projects, both as participant and<br>as Project Manager. Janja works with students in preparation for participation at moot courts in<br>international humanitarian and refugee law. From 2011 she worked with 7 teams who achieved<br>excellent results at these moot courts.<br>Simentić Popović is a member of several scientific associations in the field of international law (e.g.<br>European Society of International Law) and programme coordinator at NGO Belgrade International<br>Law Circle.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Irene is a Human Rights trainee and currently serves as Junior Researcher at the 3 rd Standing Committees on Dialogue among Civilization and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has lived in Palestine, Germany, Türkiye, and San Marino, where she had the opportunity to specialize in sustainable development and global politics.<br><br>After getting a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, Irene graduated 🤬 laude from the University of Siena in Environmental and Development Economics in 2021, with a Master’s thesis in political philosophy addressing the inequality of meritocracy as a theory of<br>justice. Her main research interest concerns social and environmental justice.<br><br>In 2022, she joined the European Solidarity Corps in the border city of Gaziantep, where she supported the organization and implementation of non-formal education activities with Syrian refugees and Turkish coming from vulnerable backgrounds, with the aim of facilitating integration and social inclusion. There, she collaborated with youth and cultural centres supported by the government, NGOs, and IOM.<br><br>At the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, she currently conducts research on mass migration, refugees, gender equality, and climate change.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Sofija Zumrova is a Lawyer form North Macedonia.&nbsp;<br>Between 2015 and 2016 Sofija worked with the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, and was in charge of providing legal advice and assistance to asylum seekers, refugees, persons under<br>subsidiary protection and stateless persons in procedure. These, Sofija had direct daily contact and communication with refugees and authorities.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Carla Trimmer was born and raised in Mexico.<br>She holds a BA in International Relations from The Mexican Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM), where she published the Thesis: <em>Power Asymmetries between countries of transit and countries of origin on bilateral migration agreements: Comparison case of Turkey and Mexico<br><br></em>Carla has more than 5 years of experience as a volunteer and later intern in the area of durable solutions in the organization Casa Refugiados. Casa Refugiados is based in Mexico City and focuses on providing social, psychological, and economic assistance to forcibly displaced persons in the central region of Mexico. As a volunteer, Carla provided workshops with the purpose of social harmonization for the arriving asylum seekers and supported the strengthening and creation of partnerships with actors from different sectors.<br><br>From 2019 to 2021, Carla was assigned to the Cash-Based Interventions Project as the CBI Specialist and Manager. The CBI project was a community-based approach used to provide humanitarian assistance to<br>the applicants of refugee status recognition and refugees in the city.<br><br>Currently, Carla lives in Istanbul, volunteering with different organizations suchas Small Projects Istanbul, Help Afghans Now and Conversations on Consent to continue learning from<br>different contexts, projects and the best humanitarian practices.&nbsp;<br><br>Carla is also a graduate student in<br>Boğaziçi University, in the program of International Relations with a focus on Turkey, Europe and Middle<br>East.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After graduating from the Law School of Ankara University in 2012, Sibel began a<br>master's program in public law at the same university. Meanwhile, she started her internship, receiving the Attorney’s Certificate in 2013.&nbsp;<br><br>In 2014, Sibel was assigned to the Law School at Bursa Uludağ University as a research assistant, and now she is an associate professor in the department of constitutional law.&nbsp;<br>As she wanted to focus on refugee rights, Sibel wrote my master's thesis about the temporary protection regime, making presentations and writing articles related to refugee law.&nbsp;<br><br>During the doctorate programme, which started in 2015, Sibel was at the Free University of Berlin for ten months (2018-2019) and learned German.
