Rosemary Geddes
Hello all! I'll be your guide on this tour of GHC...

So yes, this is my desk up at Teviot Place, Edinburgh University in a very old crumbling Population Health building. The medical school is gradually moving to a brand new modern location just on the outskirts of the city but I do love being here as I can walk to all the coffee shops and most Edinburgh festival events are at your doorstep!

Looking forward to seeing all your workspaces.

Rosemary

P.S. you are not restricted to the visual space on your screen. Once you have written and posted your picture, you can move it by dragging and dropping so no overlapping necessary.

Hi everyone! So my name is Barbara, I am Austrian and in this picture you can see my desk (which is actually our dinner table). I am currently living in Vienna (Austria)... however, this is just temporary because I am doing here a training for my next job in Kenya! As a development worker I used to live in Mauritania which was a great experience and I totally fell in love with the country. But changes are good (especially for your CV) and so I made the decision to check out the other side of Africa! :)
This is my last year of the MSc program "Global Challenges" and I hope that this class will be as great as the last ones! :)

Hello everyone - Marissa here, coming to you from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As I am currently on maternity leave, my desk will be many places - sometimes the couch, sometimes the dinner table, sometimes the floor, and, many times, it will be at the park while my daughter plays. Here is a photo of the most likely place - the dinner table, where my work will be safest from her curious hands and mind. Also, I have a standing desk at work and tend to use my kitchen counter as a desk when I work from home because I can stand at it. I look forward to completing this course from many physical spots and through the many perspectives I gain from all of you!

Hi all, my name is Matt and I live and work in London. This is my second year of the Global Challenges Programme. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and learning about all things health-related. I should warn you all now that I am firmly in the 'layman camp' when it comes to health as I have no former experience or specific knowledge in this area. However, I think this makes it all the more exciting as I now have a great opportunity to learn from people who do! Admittedly, my "desk" photo is a bit of a cop-out, but I will be spending a lot of my time at work at the House of Commons pouring over the reading materials during my lunch breaks (and any other time I can fit in a few extra minutes!)

Echoing Barbara's words, I hope this year will be as interesting as my first :)

Matt

Hi everyone!
I can see I am the newest in the room. Well, I am a Cameroonian currently taking a Masters in Public Health at the University of Edinburgh. I have a six years working experience as a Physician, of which the last four years saw me playing a managerial role following my appointment as District Medical Officer. In this role, I was responsible for coordinating all health projects and initiatives as well as managing human, financial and material resources in my Health District. I am currently in Cameroon for Xmas break, so I can only take a picture of my reading table at the moment. Hoping to collaborate with you all soonest. Happy New Year!
