         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nicholas Winton was born in Hampstead, London on May 19, 1909 to German Jewish parents, Rudolph Wertheim and Barbara Wertheimer. He had an older sister and a younger brother Charlotte and Robert Wertheim. His original last name was Wertheim, but his family changed it to Winton in an effort of integration. His family was Christian, so he was baptized when he was a baby. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sir Nicholas Winton and Martin Blake established an organization to rescue children at risk from Nazi Germany. He saved 669 Czech children from death camps. He found homes for all of the children and arranged safe passage for them to go to Britain. The operation was later known as “Czech Kinder-transport”.</div>]]></description>
