Whilst recording with the gimble I thought it was quite cool how you can use the joystick to move the camera about which made testing the camera quite enjoyable, another thing was the ability to have it quite stiff or to follow movement whilst moving.
The main stuff I learnt was how to get the camera into place and at the correct angle I want it to be, or just upright and mostly forced into place.
The different type of footage I recorded on the gimble was shots like running shots or going upstairs and just casually walking around the hallway and the classroom.
I also did a little bit of mic testing with it to see the quality of it and to see if it sounded as, worse or better than the JVC cameras mic and in the end the imbedded microphone sounded a lot better and clearer on the gimble than the JVC.

I haven't had a chance to present the pitch but I think for what I've put on the pitch should be good enough.

Evaluation Essay
For my project I decided to follow the comedy/horror genre, one of the main reasons I decided on tis was because I enjoyed the idea of a comedic horror film and watching the film Tucker and Dale vs Evil further pushed that thought even further as it fit what I had in mind perfectly. With my film I had the intention of making an idea of a misinterpreted identity which was like how it was in Tucker and Dale, in the film it’s two hillbillies being mischaracterized as crazy psychopaths who were out for blood but, they were the complete opposite.
The length of film itself wasn’t that long, the rough cut was about 1:09 long and the final cut being 1:19 long which isn’t the longest but still should be alright. The whole length of the production was surprisingly only a week (guess you could even say 2 days as the first day was filming and the second day was editing the rough cut and the final cut). The main location for the film is the forest area just near the college and the tunnel on the path down it, it was chosen to give off an airy vibe, so it wasn’t in broad daylight.
The only key skill that was of use during production was the use of the gimble as that was what the camera was place on and used for the majority of shots in the film (about 95% of the film), to be honest to an extent using was successful besides the shots which weren’t included because I messed with the camera like in one of the unused shots I held the trigger on the gimble which moved it the camera in the opposite direction so the camera started t spin the wrong way making it so we had to reshoot the shot again so the gimble use was successful to a certain extent.
During production I thought using the zoom recorder could have had a big output on the audio but instead it was a lot of quitter than the camera audio, so I ended up not using that extra bit of audio and when I needed to the most, I just reused some of the quitter scenes audio for times where the was no dialogue but just sound.
Considering the fact, I haven’t had the time to receive a lot of feedback I can only go off of what someone said whilst I was editing the film and that was how nice the quality and lighting looked for the majority of the shots in the film, the only problems was I didn’t hear any negative feedback so I don’t exactly know what could have been bad about it.
Going over what happened during the production I noticed the fact that I’m good at using what time I have as about 1 week ago I was probably about 2 weeks behind but now I’m nearly caught up in lonely about 3 days, one of the only other things I can point out is my script writing as since even before starting college I had never typed up a script before but now I’ve done my third and they have all been consistently good scripts, some stuff which could be improved on could be the fact of marking days to try and film and not leave it to where I have to film since in like a week or in a day or two away I have to hand it which that’s what it’s been like over the last couple of projects.
To a good extent I would say my editing skills are alright considering I had never used premiere pro prior to starting at Oaklands and so far it hasn’t been that bad to actually edit my films which I guess it’s a good thing.
