Alphaboxes to Make Meaning
With this article, I learned that an "alphabox" is a graphic organizer with boxes for each letter of alphabet. Before or after students read or listen to reading, they are prompted to jot down questions, connections, or record words they don't know. This strategy could helpful when reading about new people through my leaders unit because they will have to make meaning about what could be totally new person or concept.
