O Son do Camiño, is a well-known festival here in the capital of Galicia. Leading pop and rock artists but there a wide variety of styles. Is a three-day festival of contemporary performing acts, alongside big stages, is held in Santiago every year, in summer, but this year, it had changed the dates of the concerts, at the end of May, or early June. The tickets normally are cheaper, more or less 80 euros, but it depends if you want to acquire a vip ticket to see the festival in a best location, and it take place in a peaceful countryside, with a campaign zone, that’s for the reason that people decide to take tents, and drinks, to stay more comfortable. There are a wide variety of bands and different genres such as hip hop, pop music, techno or house music, and rock obviously. Normally attended by around 150.000 people.

This event attracks numerous famous national and international artists like Ana Mena, David Guetta, Jason Derulo, Lola Indigo, Maluma, Aitana or Bizarrap and this year, J Balvin, Thirty Seconds To mars and Green Day, will be the headliners. Of course, this is not only a concert, is a great event, grew in size every year, and you can do other activities, for instance there are food trucks, if you are hungry. Recently, the organization have decided to install a big wheel, and also get distinct photocalls, so this is fantastic indeed!.

This is a collaborative festival, organized

by a lot of cultural associations and young political and social movements. The festival includes a music programation but also other activities like theatre, book presentations, and play spaces and shows for children.

The main idea is to promote Galician music, culture and identity, incorporating innovations into tradition experience.

The impact that it creates is ever greater and last year almost around 100000 people come there from all over Galicia and other communities.

The cost of this festival is accessible for all budgets, 15-20 € for three days and in addition, everything raised goes each year to a different charity association.

It has a familiar character, where all ages are welcome, with different activities such as a large play area that includes popular games, gastronomy, theatre, crafts, and a market with the best products from the Galician countryside.

Always, the tickets have two moments. You can buy the tickets before you know the artists or you can buy when you know. The first are cheaper than the second option. Normally, the price is around 80 or 100 euros. The sort of music that there are in this festival is different. You can find reggeaton, rock, small local artist or other type of musicians. In addition to music, also there are other locations and services like photocall, foodtracks... I think is a good festival and you have the opportunities to know new artist.

In its first edition, the number of assistants was 22.134. However, it has grown, as other festivals, and last year 37.567 people enjoyed it.

The location of this festival is near the river Miño, in a nice and calm place surrounded by fields and nature. Moreover, the possibility of resting in a special area is available.

With respect to the price, it depends on how many days you’re going to stay. This year, it’s between 45-65€ approximately for the entire two days.

This festival is perfect and memorable for the fans of indie and pop music. This year it will be headlined by artists like Ginebras, Arde Bogotá, Amaral, Viva Suecia, Carlos Sadness, Mikel Izal, Nil Moliner, etc.

I haven’t gone yet, although I would like to, but I think there are more activities to do, so it could be a good plan to enjoy this festival with your family and/or friends!
