These sections are race, gender, and socioeconomic class. We felt that these were the 3 most prominent forms of discrimination represented throughout Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You. We chose to put the thesis at the top of the page to make it easy to see our initial argument before diving into the evidence. On our first draft of the padlet, we had the thesis in the middle of the page, but thanks to feedback from our peers we decided that we needed to reorganize the padlet to make it easy to follow and review. By putting our thesis at the top of the page, we were able to effectively break down the identity facets of the dominant group within the book: rich White males. By splitting our padlet into 3 sections, we also were able to demonstrate that intersectionality is a very layered concept and that there are different marginalized groups within the aforementioned aspects of identity. This is important because our selected quotes represent the various ways groups of people are oppressed for their intersectionality. Ultimately, our padlet represents the nature of oppression in America.
