         <description><![CDATA[<div>Although there were 5 million American men who volunteered to fight in WWII, it was not enough. The Selective Service System started a draft to get 10 million more men for the armed forces. Once they were drafted they were like the volunteers, sent to military bases to become prepared for battle.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Women Industrial Workers</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At first, companies did not want to hire women but when shown that women could use a welding torch or riveting guns just as well as a man could, companies were fine with women being in the workforce. The companies also liked they only had to pay the women 60% of what they would have to men which meant more money in  the companies pocket.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This was a result of fear of Japanese sabotage. They were forced to go into internment camps if they lived in certain areas along the west coast. This was unfair to the Japanese because there were no charges filed against them, no trials to determine guilt, and no sings of disloyalty.</div>]]></description>
