Some of my deepest (and most fond) memories of gaming consoles and games from very early childhood were of the Game Boy Advance SP. Though it belonged to my cousins, the Game Boy's startup sound is extremely nostalgic for me, as well as the Crash Bandicoot game. Another console that was a big part of growing up for me was the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.

My favourite games growing up, around ages 8-12, were The Sims 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Once again, it was my cousin who owned The Sims 2 game for PC, and we would huddle around the computer screen taking turns playing for hours on end. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was a game that, because I was so young, had trouble understanding and didn't complete until years later; my favourite part was simply wandering the game world. This Samsung slide-up mobile was the first I had as my own; I got it around the age 10/11, and it was for the sole purpose of being able to call/be called by my mam when I would 'play out' with my friends. I remember having the standard stock photo of a poppy field as my phone background, and the annoying, but iconic, jingle 'Banana Phone', as my ringtone, linked above. Growing up, we also had, and still have, a house phone which, though it is cordless, sits in a small phone station (?) that is plugged into a wall socket. A lot of these shows portrayed strong female main characters, however, despite this, these representations of women tended to be stereotypical. I was around the ages 7-10 when first watching these films, and they continue to be in my favourite films of all time. Remembering Ponyo from my childhood led me to watching other Studio Ghibli films, which I now consider some of my favourite films to date! I remember also having a CD case with pages and pages of CDs that we kept in our car - now we can simply link our phones to the car's speakers via Bluetooth, without the need for CDs. I genuinely believe that it shaped and influenced a lot of my sense of humour that I still have today. I believe I was active on the app for 3 of the 4 years of its lifetime, from 2014-2017. For example, I only listened to Mika as my mam enjoyed his music, and I just so happened to enjoy it too. For artists like Natasha Bedingfield, I listened to her more due to the fact that at the time, around ages 9-12, she was a popular artist in the spotlight, and I'd hear her songs on the radio. The same applies to One Direction; from ages 9-13 I was a huge fan of One Direction, just as many people my age were. And, although they have been split up since 2016, I still unironically enjoy their music. So essentially I had a device for phone calls, and sometimes taking photos, and another device for music. Not long after I got an iPod Touch, which could be used for calls, photos, apps, music, etc. It was a basically a combination of my Samsung phone and my first iPod, and it replaced both of said devices.
