Today, teacher Raquel asked us about Wally's curiosities. The curiosities that I liked the most were:

Wally has a dog, the dog's name is Wolf;

He travels through time;

Wally can be found on Google Earth.

Later we talked about texts and information and I discovered that all texts transmit information, whether through verbal or nonverbal language.

In this way, I could also understand that we can abstract ideas in different textual types and therefore, reading has always a purpose. Regarding the purposes, there are three different levels, the different comprehension levels.
1° General (title, subtitle, charts, tables, etc)
2° Main Ideas (what, who, why, when, where, etc)
3° Details

After we did an activity on these three levels to enhance our understanding and I learned the meaning of the words:

upside-down;

dizzying;

polish;

ceiling;

loo.

Today I learned that first level reading comprehension is the most important thing to understand if a text will be useful to you or no. This level of understanding is the general: title, subtitle, charts, tables, etc. We also did an activity to exercise our dynamic reading on this level.

One very cool thing I learned is that gossip in English means gossip, therefore the name of the series gossip girl (this information is not very important, but I really liked it).

Today we learned about the difference between the present simple and the present continuous. The main difference is that the present simple is used for universal truths and the present continuous for actions that are still happening.

Ex:
I fell (present simple)
I am feeling (present continous)
</sub>
Furthermore, every verb in the infinitive is accompanied by (to)
Ex:
Received (past)      To receive (infinitive)
Accepted (past)     To accept (infinitive)
Another thing we learned is that the first thing we should read is the text type, because that's what we'll create our expectation from. To read an article, we need to pay attention:

Abstract

Introduction

Development (methodology)

Conclusion (results and discussion)
