Three Great Plays of Shakespeare

The book consists of three stage plays wrote by the infamous Shakespeare in the late 1500s . The three plays are Romeo and Juliet , Macbeth , and King Lear . Since Romeo and Juliet is the most well-known of them all , I will be reviewing on that play only .

Romeo and Juliet is considered to be one of the greatest romance in the time of Shakespeare . The story depicted two people who were each from a respected family in a city named Verona . The two families however have a long history of hatred towards each other . Nonetheless , the lead character Romeo attended a banquet held by Juliet's family , and they both fell for each other at first glance . As sparks began to ignite , their love for one another soon led them to embark on a rollercoaster-like journey . Engagement plans were being made ; respective friends from the two families fought each other ; separation became inevitable ; hope of a happy ending was found ; an impromptu variable occured which took the whole story to a turn . In the end , the story was brought to a closure where both Romeo and Juliet showed deep love for each other through their gesture . The two families broke their barrier and announced truce in their midst .

Two quotations found in the book summarises my opinion on this play . The first one : " Rosaline knew that you weren't really in love , " said the wise friar . A day before meeting Juliet , Romeo was deeply in love with a girl named Rosaline who had rejected him and led him to become bitter . It isn't like any other scenarios however where the females reject the males because they merely aren't attracted to them . No , Rosaline rejected Romeo because she knew he wasn't in love with her . Ironically , Romeo was said to have completely forgotten about her after he met Juliet . He even went as far as planning to make a knot in their relationship through engagement after just one night of interaction . This goes to show how naive , reckless and youngblood Romeo was .

The second one would be : " There is no world for me anywhere except here , where Juliet is . " These words were uttered by Romeo after having been exiled from the city . The consequence of his refusal to leave would result in his death . Still , his love for Juliet had established a foundation higher than his life . Though Romeo might not be mature in his actions , it is without a doubt that his love for Juliet is genuinely deep .

In a nutshell , I think this play would establish a standard of love for couples all around the world . However , it is not advised that they follow the thoughtlessness behavior and decision made by the characters . Overall , I would rate this 2.5/5 stars .
