Both of my classes are used to breaking into small groups to discuss the film or the text and to answer specific questions. Interestingly, as this was a mid-course review, the dynamic was slightly different. The whole group exercise (with me as scribe) enabled a review that went beyond the learning aims and we also collated what we had learned so far. This was a quick and efficient way to collate the information. Feedback from my students included that they felt more engaged with this process, than when they complete the SLR form. One went so far as to say, with the group work, 'we can show what we have really learned, rather than write what we think the WEA bosses want'.
The literature class worked well, but students became a little anxious that the 'other' group were doing better. This method helped the groups focus on the learning outcomes, but slightly stifled other points from coming through. I have permission to use these photographs, but not all students wanted to be included.
With hindsight, I will go for the whole group review, but with one of the students acting as scribe, which will help students engage more in the process and free me up to facilitate and ensure all points are captured and built upon.

I missed session 2 of the Exchange and this is the first time I've used the Padlet. My reflection on session 1 was that the Learning Record was useful as it stood, but for this course I would not ask the students to complete the Mid course review. Instead we will discuss as a group, in the lesson tomorrow, their progress with the Learning Outcomes, and I am adapting this session to focus on these outcomes. So, in the session tomorrow I will ask a representative in smaller groups of three or four, to just note down any points that contribute to the Learning Outcomes in this session. We will refer to these specific points in our discussion of how they are progressing with the course as a whole.

I am uploading a copy of the Student Learning Record and a list of the films we are covering. I am making an amendment to the session tomorrow because I've decided one of the films will not work so well for this topic, and I am replacing this with a different movie.
