In today's class I learned that every school should have its own international policy. This is important not only when it comes to trips abroad, but it is also a regulation about what is important when other countries come to us. When writing such a statement, we must refer to three points, whether there is an international policy for us, what are the goals and how to achieve them.

I hope we can build a long lasting system to our school. Now it depends too much of invidiual teachers and headmaster. It would we wonderful to build such of archive of all the documents that we could always get our applications trough. I want to inspire everyone in my school to travel and learn outside our school. I don't want to complain how difficult it was to come here, but change it easier for the next ones.

Cultural exchange, making new friends, sharing experiences with young people from other countries, raising awareness and acquiring new knowledge, learning about new programs and tools are just a few advantages of international exchanges. However, it is important that a document regulating foreign trips for educational purposes is created in each school. After returning, together with the headmaster, we will create a document specifying the objectives, disadvantages, advantages.

We should give our students the best opportunities to develop  according to an international strategy, respecting different cultures, human rights, justice and values, to be "citizens of the world".

It was very interesting for me today to learn what international and intercultural activities exist at the schools of the other participants.
I was very surprised to learn that Guadeloupe also has a blood sausage, which I thought was only available in Germany.

Our school has had a mission statement for more than 20 years that includes respect for other cultures.
In this context, it is important to me that interculturality does not only mean exchange with other countries and travel, but that the view must also go inward. How do we deal with participants from different cultures? Can we also respect and serve their particularities and needs?

I found it very enriching that we exchanged ideas today about the different forms of designing international projects. While listening to the activities at the schools of my Erasmus+ colleagues, I got many new ideas for projects that could also be started and implemented at my school in one form or another. I'm thinking, for example, of an orchestra exchange with one of our wind instrument classes or digital exchanges with schools outside the European Union. The idea of pursuing an exchange with a school in Guadeloupe is becoming more and more ingrained in my mind. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the next two weeks to get such a project off the ground.

Today I learned how little international work our school actually does. We don’t have friendship schools in other countries and we don’t have any student exchange.
I decided to find out if it’s possible to do a student exchange with my students, who are from 13 to 16 years old. I have always thought it’s impossible to go outside Finland with students that young, but if other countries do that, we can do too.
