My dad past away. The week prior my mom and dad decided that they wanted to be separated. The day he passes I was leaving the doctors office and my mom was taking me to school. while my mom was driving she gets a call from my dads sister Nikki and she told my mom that my dad was found unresponsive. When she said that me and my mom broke down in tears. My mom then went to go pick up my sister so she could drop us off at my grandparents house. My mom didn't want me and my sister to see our father like that. My mom met up with Nikki at the house my dad was at and the paramedics did their best trying to save him but he was gone.

When they arrived at the hospital the doctors wouldn't let nobody see him. Also they couldn't tell us how he passed. It was a really hard time for all of us. Then a few days after his death we get a call from the hospital and they said that my dad had a heart-attack in his sleep. That really hit home because literally most of my dads family passed away because of a heart attack prior to his death. Then the day of the funeral comes and it was so difficult because I don't like funerals. I don't like to see anybody in a box, I want to see them alive. During the funeral I took the Jesus necklace off that he gave me and I put it right on his pillow next to him. After the funeral we went to the burial site. One thing I never done was carry a casket. I had to do it for my pops, so when we arrived I carried his casket along with four other people. I'm not going to lie I thought I would be fine but then when I saw his casket being lowered, I immediately started to break down and cry. That was the hardest day of my life because thats when I realized that this is the last time I will see him ever again.

My dads death affected me a lot. The more I grew the more I started to look and act like him. Sometimes my family calls me Tony because I look so much like him now and Tony was my dads nickname.

One day over the summer I was driving home from my 2nd football practice. When I was leaving practice I noticed a car was following me. I was tired, hungry and I didn't really pay attention to the car. I thought the person might have stayed in the same area as I did. I was literally a block away from my house and literally all I see is the red and blue lights flash behind me. I'm thinking to myself like "What Did I Do". I'm not going to lie I was scared because this was my first time being stopped by the police. The cop didn't even come and do the regular like ask for your license and registration. He stood behind his door with a gun pointing at my car and said "Show me your hands" I just remembered what my mom told me. She said "Do what the police tell you to do because in this era black people are getting killed by the police for nothing". I was so scared, my heart was beating fast and I started to sweat a lot. I was just praying that I wouldn't get killed. I did what the cop said. I showed him both of my hands. Then he says "Get out of your vehicle slowly". I got out the car so slow that you would think I was an old grandma. Then the cop says "Put Your Hands Behind Your Back And Walk Slowly". Thats exactly what I did and before I knew it I was being handcuffed and thrown into the back of a police car crying.

At this point I'm so terrified because this was my first time getting pulled over and handcuffed, and also I got pulled over in my moms car and she had to work the next day in the morning and I was praying that she wouldn't come down to the police station and beat me. So as soon as we got to the police station they put me in a room for questioning. I was in the room for a good 20 minutes before anybody else came back for me. A detective walks in and I immediately start crying and he says "Do You Know Why Your Here". I said "No Sir". He told me that I matched the description of a person who committed a robbery and assault charge. I told the guy that I didn't do anything. I told him that this whole week I just been going to football practice and back home. After I told him that he said "Don't Play Me You Know What You Did" I said "I Promise Sir That I Didn't Do Anything". Then the guy said "Ok" then left. I guess he went to go talk with the other people about me. Then The guy came back and said "We Are Going To Let You Go Because We Don't Have Physical Evidence That You Did Anything". They unhand cuffed me and said that I was free to go. I then asked them if I could call my mom so she could come pick me up. My mom ended up coming and the first thing she said was what happened. I told her that I matched the description of someone who committed a crime. So then we started to leave and it was like 11 o'clock at night and I had to be at practice the next day at 7. Then later that week the police station called and said that they found the victim and that they were sorry for what they did to me. They also told me that they deleted my record from their system.

This event really impacted my life because now I just hate police even more than I use to. I will never be able to trust the police ever again.
